Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Knights Blank King's 1-0

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. -- Harun Abdullahi broke a scoreless tie in the 77th minute to give the Arcadia men's soccer team its first win of the season, 1-0, at King's on Saturday afternoon.

Abdullahi, who scored seven goals as a freshman, has scored in each of the Knights' (1-1) first two contests. His shot from the top of the box late in Saturday's contest, beat Owen Geedey to his right and propelled AU to its first win of the season.

King's had one chance late in the contest to find an equalizer, but Sean Murray's shot with just over a minute to play was saved by AU' Jake Varrato.

IN GOAL: Varrato stood tall in net for Arcadia, making five saves on the day as King's outshot AU, 11-7. The clean sheet marked the first in the career for the first-year goalkeeper. Geedey made four saves for the Monarchs in taking the loss.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: After getting outshot 7-1 in the first half, the Knights rebounded to hold a 6-4 edge in the second half … King's also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks … Abdullahi took four shots in the contest, putting all of them on frame, and has now taken seven through two games.

UP NEXT: The Knights are at Ursinus on Wednesday beginning at 7:30 p.m.
