READING, Pa. -- The Arcadia women's volleyball team rode a balanced offensive attack once again to a 3-0 win at Albright on Tuesday evening.

The Knights won their second straight match by the score of 3-0, and improved to 5-1 on the year and 2-0 in the MAC Commonwealth. Albright fell to 3-2 on the season and 0-2 in league play.

Arcadia took the opening set 25-15 then closed out the match with 25-17 wins in sets two and three.

In the opening set, the Knights turned a close match into an easy victory with a 9-2 scoring run. Leading 11-9,
Katie Wilson recorded kills on two of the next four points for a 15-9 lead and an Albright timeout. After seeing its lead dwindle to four points (16-12),
Allison Elechko notched a service ace and kill as part of a 4-0 run and the Knights went up 1-0.

In the second set, Albright raced out to a 5-0 lead and saw its lead reach 10-2 before the Knights settled down. AU cut its deficit to 10-7, prompting an Albright timeout, then stormed ahead 13-12 on a kill from Wilson. Tied 14-14, Arcadia sealed the second set with a 7-1 scoring run to take a 21-15 lead.

The Knights fell behind 3-0 in the third set then scored three straight points to make it 3-3. Arcadia seized control of a back-and-forth match with four straight points to go from tied 6-6, to up 10-6 then never led by fewer than three the rest of the way.

No Knight reached double figures in kills, though three players had at least eight and AU hit .316 as a team with nine service aces. Wilson had nine kills on just 12 swings (.750) and
Allison Elechko and
Shannon Ryan each contributed eight kills.
Julia Paliwodzinski had 27 assists and five digs, while
Emily Eng led the team with seven digs. Elechko had three of the Knights' nine service aces, and Ryan and
Kayla Resh each had two.

Damaris Gomez led Albright with 11 kills, but hit just .105. Kaitlyn Chell and Becca Davis had 17 and 12 digs, respectively.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The .316 hitting percentage for Arcadia marked a new season-best, while the nine service aces were the second-most in a match … The Knights also held Albright to just a .012 hitting percentage, a season-low for AU opponents.
