SELINSGROVE, Pa. -- A second-half penalty kick was enough for the Susquehanna men's soccer team to defeat Arcadia, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Knights fall to 2-4 on the season, while the River Hawks improve to 1-4-1.

Kyle Trainor scored the game's only goal in the 51st minute after the River Hawks drew a foul in the box resulting in a PK. The PK was one of only two shots on goal the entire game for Susquehanna, as the Arcadia defense did its best to limit the chances of the River Hawks.

The Knights got off a pair of shots in the last 12 minutes, one a header by
Ryan Hammer, another a strike by
Julian Larrondo, but each shot was blocked in front and didn't make it to SU goalkeeper Matt Ellingworth.

IN GOAL:
Jake Varrato played all 90:00 for the Knights and made one save with one goal against. Ellingworth came up with five saves on the day on his way to a clean sheet.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: The Knights held a 13-6 advantage in shots, including 5-2 in shots on goal despite Susquehanna earning three corner kicks to two for the Knights … After opening the season with seven goals over its first three games, Arcadia has now scored just once in its past three matches despite taking 40 shots.
