FREDERICK, Md. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team picked up a pair of victories Saturday afternoon at Hood, defeating the host Blazers, 3-1, in a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth matchup before taking down Bridgewater in straight sets to run the Knights' current win streak to three.
Lauren Enfield finished the tri-match with a team-high 38 kills, while
Julia Paliwodzinski logged a game-high 42 assists in the non-conference win over the Eagles.
ARCADIA 3, HOOD 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights and Blazers stayed within two points of each other in the opening stages of the first set, but Arcadia ripped off an 11-0 run to take a vast advantage, 19-7. Of the 11-straight points, four came via Enfield kills, allowing the Knights to claim the first set, 25-12.
-Despite holding a 7-6 lead early in the second set, Hood battled back with five-straight points before the Knights strung together a similar stretch, resulting in a 12-12 stalemate. The Knights regained control to go back up, 21-18, but another 5-0 Hood run proved to be the difference in the second set as the Blazers drew even in the match with a 25-23 victory.
-The Knights took the first five points of the third set and did not look back from there, later jumping out to a 17-7 advantage thanks to a pair of
Grace Kraft aces in the middle stages of the set. Enfield capped off the third set, 25-10 victory with a pair of service aces.
-After being tied at five in the fourth set, the Knights went on to earn 16 of the next 17 points - including a stretch of 12-straight - to take a commanding 21-6 lead. The Blazers refused to be turned away and battled back to get within six points at 23-17, but
Maddie Hall's kill clinched the fourth set and the match for the Knights.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights were dominant from the onset of their second match of the afternoon, racing out to an 11-3 lead in the first set and ultimately holding the Eagles to only eight points in the frame.
Maddie Sehrt had three kills in the opening stretch while Enfield finished the set with eight total kills.
-Arcadia continued to control the match in the second set behind
Shannon Ryan's four kills, culminating in a 25-14 victory to take a 2-0 lead.
-The Knights took their first lead of the third set at 5-4 and remained out front the rest of the way to clinch the match in straight sets. Enfield and Ryan combined for 13 kills in the third to lead Arcadia past Bridgewater, 25-16.
