GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia women's volleyball team could not contain No. 16 Johns Hopkins University, who bested the Knights in straight sets Saturday night.
Shannon Ryan,
Maddie Sehrt and
Allison Elechko led the Knight's attack with six kills, respectively, while
Julia Paliwodzinski had a game-high 19 assists and nine digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights hung around early in the first set, but ended up dropping the opener 25-16. Johns Hopkins began to pull away with an 8-2 rally midway through the set.Â
-In the second set, Arcadia held a few early advantages, but couldn't slow down the Blue Jays attack. With the game knotted at 11, Johns Hopkins gained seperation with a crushing 13-2 run, which featured seven consecutive points.Â
-The final set was more of the same for the Knights. Arcadia went point for point with the Blue Jays early in the set, but fell victim to another Johns Hopkins rally. The Knights pulled within four points late in the set, but surrendered six straight points to fall behind 24-14.Â
