GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's soccer team fell to Stevenson University, 1-0, on Senior Appreciation Day, Saturday afternoon at Jean Lenox West Field.
With Lycoming's victory over Hood, the Knights clinched the third seed in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Matt Berndlmaier made a clutch defensive save to prevent an early goal for the Mustangs. The junior back broke up a breakaway attempt with a sliding deflection to rob Stevenson of the opening score.

Jake Varrato made a key save in the 17th minute. The sophomore keeper slid to his opposite side to deflect a dangerous shot on goal.

Ayo Adenegan nearly gave the Knights a lead with a header off the crossbar in the 53rd minute. The senior's deflection bounced off the lower part of the crossbar, but stayed out of the net.
- Varrato exited the game in the 65th minute to end his regular season with a three save effort.
- Owen Mostoller netted the game-winning goal for the Mustangs in the 83rd minute. Diego Guerrero played the ball to the center of the box following a corner kick and found the foot of Mostoller, who beat the keeper high.

- Stevenson outshot the Knights 11-6 with a 6-2 shot on goal advantage.

The Knights (9-8-2, 4-2-2) will travel to the No. 2 seed Lycoming College for the second round of the MAC Commonwealth Championships on Wednesday at 2:00 PM. Arcadia defeated Lycoming, 1-0, earlier in the season.
