ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The Arcadia women's lacrosse team opened its season with a 17-6 loss at Muhlenberg on Saturday.

Alex Arena led the Knights with three goals, and
Michaela Ferlow added four draw controls, two ground balls, a caused turnover and one goal.

The Mules opened a 4-0 lead just under 12 minutes into the game before the Knights responded with three straight tallies to pull within 4-3. Arena scored her first of the game at the 13:09 mark, and
Hannah Stasko followed with her first collegiate goal at 11:14 to make it 4-2. With just under eight minutes to play,
Julia Imbert fed Arena for her second goal and the Knights trailed by just one, 4-3.

Muhlenberg, however, scored the next five goals of the contest in taking a 10-3 lead at the 23:08 mark of the second half. Ferlow halted the 5-0 run with an unassisted tally at 19:14 to make it 10-4, but the Mules sealed the game with a 7-0 run to assume a 17-4 lead with 4:44 to play.

Muhlenberg held a 40-16 edge in shots and won 17 draw controls to just seven for AU.

Veandra Selby started in the cage and made 12 saves while allowing 13 goals in 45:51.
Lauren Bunch played the final 14:09 and allowed four goals while making one save.

Amanda Tullo led the Mules with seven points on five goals and two assists. Victoria Friedel and Caroline Dolan each had five draw controls, and Moran Weiss caused three turnovers. In goal, Jordan Segrave played the first 55:49 and made five saves with four goals allowed. Chiara Brady finished out the game and allowed two goals.
