HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- The Arcadia men's tennis team fell 5-4 to Marietta and beat Wisconsin Lutheran, 6-3 Tuesday afternoon in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Knights began the day resuming a tightly contested match-up that was suspended from Tuesday evening with Marietta leading 4-3.

The Scarlet & Grey were trailing 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles, which saw the Knights pick up their lone doubles victory at No. 2 as John Zinzer and Drake Hanak cruised to an 8-2 win.Â
Marietta's Shane Spencer knocked off Arcadia's Jaime Zeng Zhu 6-3, 1-6, 10-1 in a three-set match at No.1 singles, which put Marietta up 3-1. A pair of wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles for the Knights, coupled with a Marietta win at No. 5 moved the score to 4-3 before play was suspended. Zinzer won at No. 3 for AU, posting a 6-4, 0-6, 12-10 win over Eric DeLong. It was Hanak at No. 4 who pulled out a 1-6, 6-0, 10-2 victory over Will Watson.Â

When play resumed on Tuesday, Luke Thatcher posted a win for AU at No. 6, outlasting Bryce Emerick 3-6, 7-6(3), 10-3, but the Pioneer eked out the win with a win at No. 2 to secure the victory.

Arcadia 6, Wisconsin Lutheran 3
Arcadia rolled past a shorthanded Wisconsin Lutheran team for a 6-3 win on Tuesday night. The Knights won five matches by default as WLC fielded just three players.
The sixth point came from
Nicholas Simeone, who secured a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.Â
The Knights are back on the court Wednesday against Marian University-Indianapolis beginning at 4 p.m.
