DALLAS, Pa. --
Kristin Cancelliere homered and drove in two runs, backing 5.0 shutout innings from
Mary Pat Murray, as the Arcadia softball team picked up a split of a doubleheader with Misericordia on Thursday afternoon.

The teams traded run-rule victories as the Cougars picked up an 8-0, six-inning win in game one, and the Knights returned the favor with a 10-0 win in five innings in the nightcap. Arcadia is now 10-6 on the season, while the Cougars stand at 13-7.

Misericordia 8, Arcadia 0
Brooke Moyle recorded a no-hitter in the opener, striking out seven and walking two as Misericordia bottled up the Knights' offense.
Kylee Schwind was tagged for six runs on six hits and a walk in 2.2 innings in taking the loss.

Murray improved to 5-2 on the season and lowered her ERA to 0.45 on the season with 5.0 shutout innings. She struck out three and walked one while giving up seven hits.

Cancelliere was 2 for 3 with a home run, a pair of RBIs, a stolen base and scored three times from the leadoff spot, while
Jackie Bilotti,
Hunter Schantz,
Alexa Vardiman, and
Tori Zangrilli each had a pair of base hits for the Knights. Schantz drove in three runs,
Julia Gessner added two RBIs and Bilotti scored twice.

Schantz opened the scoring with an RBI single in the first that scored Cancelliere for a 1-0 lead. In the second, Cancelliere drove a ball over the fence in left to bring home Vardiman and the Knights led 3-0 in the second inning. Gessner extended the lead to 5-0 with a two-run single later in the inning, and
Kayla Resh drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 6-0 before the Cougars could get out of the inning.

Schantz added a two-run single in the third, and
Jackie Zwicker did the same in the fourth to cap the scoring.

Misericordia's best chance to score came in the first, putting runners on second and third to open the frame. Murray kept the Cougars off the scoreboard with a popout and a groundout for the first two outs. A two-out walk loaded the bases, but Murray got a routine ground ball to short for the final out of the inning.

The Knights play host to Lycoming in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
