GLENSIDE, Pa. --
Hunter Schantz homered and drove in three in game one, and
Mary Pat Murray struck out eight while allowing just one run in game two as the Arcadia softball team picked up a doubleheader sweep over Lycoming on Saturday afternoon at Blankley Field.
Â
Schantz was 3 for 4 with a first-inning, three-run bomb in leading AU to a 9-1 win in six innings to begin play. In the nightcap, Murray recovered after allowing a first-inning run to finish the game with 6.0 scoreless innings and improve to 6-2 on the season with an ERA of 0.52.

Kylee Schwind made sure that Schantz's home run was enough offense, pitching 6.0 innings of one-run ball. She allowed three hits and a walk and struck out nine.
Â
Following Schantz's first-inning big fly, the Knights tacked on three more in the third inning on RBI singles by
Alexis Burge and
Jackie Zwicker, and a fielder's choice by
Morgan Marchesani. Marchesani added an RBI single in the fifth, and Burge collected and RBI single in the sixth.
Julia Gessner clinched the run-rule victory with an RBI single that plated
Jackie Bilotti.
Â
As a team, the Knights pounded out 13 hits, including multi-hit performances from Bilotti, Burge, Schantz and Gessner. Bilotti and Gessner each doubled and
Isabella O'Hare added a stolen base.

A first-inning run from the Warriors wasn't much of an obstacle for AU as the Knights completed the sweep. Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the first, the Scarlet & Grey scored twice for a 2-1 lead and never looked back.
Â
Kristin Cancelliere reached on an error to open the frame and advanced all the way to third on the play.
Alex DeStefano drove her in with a sacrifice fly. Bilotti followed with a single, then scored from first on a double to center by Schantz.
Â
Following three scoreless innings, the Knights extended their lead to 4-1 when Bilotti laced a triple to right center that scored Cancelliere and
Alexa Vardiman. Bilotti later scored on
Alexis Burge's single for a 5-1 lead.
Â
After the Warriors tallied three hits in the first, Murray limited LC to just four hits the rest of the way. Following a leadoff in the single in the seventh, Murray closed out the game with a groundout, a strikeout and, finally, a routine ground ball to Bilotti to close out the game.
Â
Bilotti was 2 for 3 with two driven in and two runs scored. Burge was 2 for 2 with a walk and Cancelliere scored twice.
Â
The Knights are back in action on Tuesday when they entertain Penn State Abington in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
