ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia baseball team exploded for 15 runs on 16 hits to overwhelm Lebanon Valley, 15-4 Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Knights improve to 20-12 overall and 11-5 in the MAC-Commonwealth.

AU was led by three-hit games by Bryan Gillen, Sean Carew and Nick Ponente. Ponente and Carew knocked in four and three runs, respectively, as Gillen and Carew both scored three times each.

Down 2-0 after two innings, the Scarlet & Grey locked the game at 2-2 on a Carew RBI single and a sacrifice fly by Dylan Towey in the third.

LVC took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the frame on a wild pitch.

The game changed hands again in the fourth as Trevor Mattson lifted a sacrifice fly to centerfield to plate Ponente. LVC responded with a RBI single to take a 4-3 advantage after four full frames.

That was the home teams' last tally as Arcadia posted 10 runs in the next three innings, with two more insurance runs coming in the top of the ninth.

Jeremy Sabathne picked up the nine-inning complete game victory as he let in four runs (2 ER) on nine hits with five strikeouts.

Arcadia completes the three-game series with LVC Saturday at Skip Wilson Field. First pitch in game one is slated for 1 p.m.
