Softball Swept by No. 24 Rowan

GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Arcadia softball team dropped two games at No. 24 Rowan Thursday by scores of 3-0 and 3-2, respectively. With the defeats, AU falls to 22-10 on the season.

Three Knights' errors were the difference as AU was tripped up in game one, 3-0.
 
In a quick moving game, the Profs kicked off the scoring with two runs in the third inning on a sacrifice fly and a RBI single to go ahead 2-0.
 
The next frame saw Rowan tack on another tally on an infield error which allowed its third, and final, run to score.
 
Brooke Ward had two of the Knights' four hits, including a double, with a stolen base. Kristin Cancelliere and Alexis Burge recorded one base knock apiece.
 
Mary Pat Murray (11-3) went the full way for the Scarlet & Grey, but was saddled with the loss. Murray surrendered three runs (0 ER) on six hits and two walks with one strikeout.

After taking a late lead, the Knights surrendered two runs in the seventh inning, including a walk-off bunt single, to drop game two, 3-2.
 
Carly Anderson led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run to left center to give the Profs an early 1-0 lead.
 
The game zipped along to the sixth inning where AU moved in front 2-1 on RBI singles by Jackie Bilotti and Hunter Schantz.
 
In the seventh, Rowan manufactured the tying run on a sacrifice fly. With two outs and runners on first and second, Kristina Mueller laid down a bunt and Shea Branda, who pinch ran for Morgan Zane, scored the winning run.
 
Cancelliere tallied two hits and one run scored from the lead-off spot, as three other Knights recorded a base hit.
 
Kylee Schwind (8-6) was tagged with the complete game loss as she surrendered three runs (1 ER) on four hits with one strikeout.
 
Arcadia hits the diamond on April 20th for its final home games of the season. The Saturday doubleheader also marks Senior Day for the team. First pitch in game one is slated for 1 p.m.
