Baseball Subdued by Misericordia, 3-1

DALLAS, Pa. – The Arcadia baseball team was subdued as it lost a non-conference match-up at Misericordia, 3-1 Monday afternoon. With the defeat, AU now holds a 22-13 overall mark on the season.
 
The Cougars scored first in the afternoon affair when Parker Abate was awarded home on an obstruction call in the first frame.
 
Misericordia tallied one run each in the fourth and fifth innings on a RBI single by Abate and a RBI double by Conor Smith to go ahead 3-0.
 
Arcadia pushed across its only run on a balk in the eighth that allowed Bryan Gillen to come home, but it wasn't enough, as MU won, 3-1.
 
Phil Pierfy recorded two of the Knights' five hits in the game. Matt Ernst, Gillen, and Anthony Zupito each chipped in one hit apiece.
 
On the hill, Carson Denham was pinned with the loss as he went 5.0 innings, surrendering three runs (1 ER) on seven hits and two walks. Luke Fournier went the rest of the way, permitting one hit and one walk to the nine batters he faced.
 
Arcadia gets right back on the field Tuesday as it hosts No. 7 College of New Jersey. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
