Men's Lacrosse Silence Golden Wolves, 29-5

GLENSIDE, Pa. -- The Arcadia men's lacrosse team rewrote the record book in a 29-5 win over Alvernia on Wednesday night at Jean Lenox West Field and Delran Pavilion.
 
The Knights tied the single-season record for wins with their sixth victory (6-5, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) while the Golden Wolves slipped to 3-11 overall and 0-3 in league play. The six wins matches last season's total and also ties the 2014 team for the most in the, now, seven-year history of the program.
 
Arcadia set single-game records in goals (29), shots (69), ground balls (63), faceoffs won (29) and caused turnovers (15), while also recording the second-most assists in a game all-time (13). In all, 14 different players tallied at least one point, 12 players scored at least one goal and seven players recorded multi-point games.
 
Brady Manion led the way with nine points on four goals and five assists. Josh Keitz had four goals and two assists, and Joe Pedisich and Clo Muscara scored five times each. Conor Cunningham won 16 of 18 faceoffs and picked up 12 ground balls, while Tanner Pajakinas, Tyrell Williams II and Joe Trovato each had seven ground balls. Ben La Rue caused a team-high five turnovers.
 
The Knights outshot Alvernia 69-27, picked up 63 ground balls to the Golden Wolves' 22 and won 29 of 38 faceoffs in a dominating win.
 
Nine first-quarter goals set the tone. Keitz opened the floodgates at 13:37, and by the 4:52 mark AU already led 6-0. A 9-0 lead after one quickly increased as Manion scored just four seconds into the second quarter to make it 10-0 and the lead reached 15-0 by halftime.
 
In the third quarter, Arcadia scored the first two goals to up its cushion to 17-0 befre the Golden Wolves got on the board at the 11:10 mark. The Knights answered with five more goals and led 22-1 on Wesley Sporer's man-up goal with 6:00 left in the quarter.
 
Grant Palmer started in goal played the first 30:00. He did not allow a goal and made four saves. Brendan Kuzminski and Connor Haines combined to play the final 30:00, allowing five goals and making four saves.
 
The Knights are at Lebanon Valley on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
