GRANTHAM, Pa. -- Messiah's women's tennis team defeated Arcadia 8-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The Knights made the Falcons work for the three doubles points.
Tess Weber and
Julia Paraboschi battled to an 8-7 (7-3) loss at No. 1, and
Emily Cruz-Pineda and
Maeghan Myers fell 8-6 at No. 3 in a pair of tight matches.

In singles, Cruz-Pineda grinded to a 7-5, 4-6, 10-4 win at No. 4 for the Knights lone point of the day. Paraboschi won her first set 6-1 and was tied 3-3 in the second before she had to retire due to injury. Weber dropped a 6-4, 7-5 battle at No. 1.

The Knights will travel to Stevenson on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match.
