Women's Tennis Falls in Thriller, 5-4

Box Score STEVENSON, Md. – The Arcadia women's tennis program were defeated in a nail-biting, 5-4 loss Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Knights drop to 7-9 on the season and 1-2 in the MACC. The Mustangs move to 8-3 on the year and 4-0 in conference action.

AU picked its first win at No. 3 with the duo of Emily Cruz-Pineda/Maeghan Myers picking up the 8-4 victory.

In singles action, the Scartlet & Grey received wins from Zoe Foglia at No. 2, Cruz-Pineda at No.3 and Alex Volkov at No. 6. The match-deciding victories came at No. 4 and No. 5. In No. 4, Kelsi Mentzer knocked off the Knights', Casey Boldt 6-2, 7-6 (7-1). No. 5 ended up being the decider with Nina Bretz and Myers going to battle. Bretz came away victorious winning a thriller 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 to assure the 5-4 Mustangs win.

The Scarlet & Grey returns to their home court April 17 against Lebanon Valley. First serve is slated for 3:30 p.m.
