GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's tennis team earned its first victory of the 2026-27 season Wednesday afternoon, defeating Stockton University, 5-2, at Weiss Courts. The Knights improve to 1-1 on the season, while the Ospreys fall to 0-1.

Arcadia opened the match by sweeping all three doubles contests to take a 3-0 lead.

Jada Young and Jessie Friel earned a 6-1 victory at No. 1 doubles over Trista Sparks and Bryn Popdan.

Nicole Scannapieco and Michelle Planita followed with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles against Alexa Arias and Arielis Martinez.

Nayah Johnson and Clarissa Macedonio secured the No. 3 doubles point by forfeit.

Stockton earned a point at No. 1 singles, as Arielis Martinez defeated Jada Young, 6-2, 6-3.

Scannapieco responded at No. 2 singles, defeating Trista Sparks, 6-4, 6-3.

Stockton's Bryn Popdan picked up a win at No. 3 singles, defeating Jessie Friel, 6-2, 6-2.

Planita clinched the match for the Knights at No. 4 singles, rallying past Alexa Arias, 4-6, 6-1, 10-7.

Johnson and Kerline Bernard added wins at Nos. 5 and 6 singles by forfeit to complete the 5-2 victory.
