GLENSIDE, Pa. – A record number of golfers participated in the Sixth Annual Arcadia Athletics Golf Outing at Old York Road Country Club on Monday, June 24. This marked the third-straight sellout of the event, which raises funds to benefit the department and its nearly 400 student-athletes.

A total of 145 golfers signed up to help support the Knights' successful and growing department, which sponsors 26 varsity programs. Up from last year's then-record of 130 golfers, the tournament has grown immensely from the 71 golfers that played in the inaugural edition hosted in 2014.

"I would like to thank all of this years participants for making this years outing another record setting event," said assistant athletic director, Mike Hebenstreit. "The continuous support from many of the participants who come back year after year, along with the new relationships that we continue to build, have made this day be record setting year after year. The funds raised from our outing are a huge reason why our department is able to continue to expand at the rapid pace that it has."

The outing featured lunch, 18 holes at the private, member-only Old York Road Country Club, a cocktail hour, dinner, and awards presentation. The golf portion of the day had a number of different contests that tested the various skills of the participating golfers, while the dinner portion of the day included remarks from Director of Athletics Brian Granata and Hebenstreit.

The team of Chris D'Alessandro, Vince D'Alessandro, Sue D'Alessandro and Ryan O'Neil won the scramble-format tournament with a score of 58, good for 13 under par.

Brian Cummings, Gerry Scannell, Robert Collins and Ryan Landis took second place, while Bob McKeaney, Bob Seille, Frank Habmastyer and Phil McKeaney took third.
