Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer's Shutout Streak Ends with Loss to Stockton

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's soccer team saw their shutout streak come to an end with a 1-0 loss against Stockton University, Wednesday night. The Ospreys found the back of the net in the 47th minute to end the Knights scoreless streak at 351 consecutive minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Early in the second half, John Maxted tallied the game's lone goal. Colby Rumpf made a move in the right corner and was able to create a passing lane to find Maxted camped in front of the goal. The senior forward faked to his left side, before coming back to the near post to beat the keeper wide.

- Despite allowing a goal, Jake Varrato had another strong performance in net. The reigning MAC Commonwealth Defensive Player of the Week matched a season-best five saves, including several key stops to keep the Knights within striking distance.

- Varrato made a sliding stop against Christian Bik in the 87th minute to keep the Knights hopes alive. The Ospreys forward was able to get deep into Arcadia territory, but was denied on an excellent challenge by Varrato. Later in the game, the Knights keeper made another spectacular save with a diving stop to rob Maxted, who attempted to beat Varrato to his far side.

- Daniel Tittelmayer nearly knotted the game up with his elite playmaking ability. In the 89th minute, the sophomore attacked from the left side, beat two defenders and delivered a well-placed centering pass from the baseline. However, an Ospreys defender was able to clear the ball before it could find the foot of an Arcadia attacker.
