GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team opened the Knight Invitational with two impressive wins against Lycoming, 3-0, and UC Santa Cruz, 3-1, Friday night. Arcadia started the evening with a conference victory over Lycoming, defeating them in straight sets to stay unbeaten in the MAC Commonwealth. The squad then capped off the night with a comeback win against the Banana Slugs after dropping the opening set.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Maddie Sehrt led the way against Lycoming with a team-high 11 kills, while
Shannon Ryan and
Allison Elechko finished second on the squad with eight.
Julia Paliwodzinski helped pace the Knight's offense with a team-high 33 assists and
Emily Eng recorded a team-best 11 digs.Â
- Arcadia won the first and third sets comfortably with 25-14 and 25-11 victories, respectively. However, the Knights battled to a hard-fought victory in the middle set, edging out the Warriors with a 25-22 win.
- The Knights dropped a competitive first set to UC Santa Cruz. The lead switched hands multiple times, but the Knights were unable to put together a comeback against the Banana Slugs in set one. However, Arcadia bounced back with comfortable wins in the final three sets.Â
- Paliwodzinski had another stellar performance with a team-high 43 assists, while Eng collected 21 digs. Ryan led the Knight's attack with 15 kills while Sehrt and
Lauren Enfield tallied 12 and 11, respectively.Â
