GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team ended its two-match skid in dominant fashion Wedneday night in Alumni Gymnasium with a decisive straight-sets victory over visiting Bryn Athyn. The Knights never trailed in the first two sets en route to the non-conference victory and set the tone early with a 25-10 first set win.
Maddie Sehrt and
Lauren Enfield led the Arcadia attack with ten and nine kills, respectively, while
Julia Paliwodzinski assisted on a match-high 22 points in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights jumped out to a a 7-0 lead to begin the first set and never looked back with four of the kills credited to Sehrt. Arcadia went on to take a 12-point lead in the middle stages of the set to cruise to a 25-10 victory.
-The two sides traded points in the early stages of the second set, but a 4-0 run powered by a trio of service aces from
Mackenzie Hale sparked the Knights to a 25-13 win in the middle frame.
-Bryn Athyn rallied for its first lead of the night early in the third set but it was short-lived as an 8-3 run put the Knights back in control.
Michelle Frank tallied three kills in the clincher as Arcadia put the match away with a 25-17 victory.
