CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Arcadia University field hockey team (1-3) put up a steady offensive attack on the road at DeSales Saturday afternoon - outshooting the Bulldogs by a 41-11 clip - but was unable to overcome a two-goal deficit at the half to drop the non-conference matchup, 4-2.
Michaela Ferlow and
Adera Ahern produced the Knights' two tallies on the afternoon, as Ferlow's was the equalizer in the early stages of the second quarter and marked her first goal of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Despite outshooting the Bulldogs 13-3 in the opening quarter, the Knights found the back of the cage only once as Ferlow took a pass inside the box off the stick of
Lauren Dougherty and beat the goalie at the ten minute mark.
-DeSales regained the lead with a pair of tallies in the the second quarter as the Knights made their way to the locker room trailing by two.
-Following a scoreless third quarte from both sides, DeSales added an insurance tally with just under ten minutes remaining to take a 4-1 lead late. Not even two minutes later, Ahern pushed one to the back of the cage to get the Knights back within two, but would fall by a 4-2 final.

-The Knights outshot DeSales in each of the four quarters, including 13-3 totals in the first and third periods.
