GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's basketball team couldn't overcome a slow start in a 54-44 loss at Widener University.
Taylor Dunn led the Knights with 16 points for her 12th straight contest with double-digit points.
Holly Daveski added 10 points with a season-high 10 rebounds off the bench for her first double-double of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Widener opened the game with a 11-2 run to put the Knights in an early hole. Dunn helped stop the bleeding with a much-needed three-pointer to trim the squad's deficit to six points at the 4:32 mark. The Pride ended the quarter with a 14-7 lead.
- The Knights fell behind by as many as 12 points in the second quarter, but answered with consecutive three-pointers from
Sydney Cyr and Dunn to cut their deficit in half with 1:29 remaining in the half.
- Arcadia scored the opening two buckets of the second half to pull withing four points of Widener, 28-24. However, the Knights were unable to pull any closer to the Pride.
- Widener began to distance themselves in the fourth quarter, pulling ahead by as many as 14 points. After the Knights scored the opening basket of the quarter, Widener responded with six unanswered points to help put Arcadia away.

- Arcadia struggled from the field at 26.8 percent (15-56), while the Pride shot 40.8 percent (20-49).
- Widener outscored Arcadia 34-18 in the painted area.
- The Knights won the turnover battle 17-20, but were outscored 12-11 in points off turnovers.
- Both teams struggled from the free throw line with Arcadia shooting 55.0 percent (11-20) and Widener shooting 57.1 percent (12-21).
