Men's Basketball Opens MAC Commonwealth Tournament Play Wednesday at Albright

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's basketball team makes its sixth appearance in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament as the third-seed in Wednesday's semifinal matchup at third-seeded Albright Wednesday night, marking the Knights' fifth appearance in the last six seasons. A win Wednesday would send the Knights to their second-consecutive MAC Commonwealth Championship Game Saturday in head coach Adam Van Zelst's first season at the helm.

-Albright holds a 17-9 advantage in the all-time series between the two sides.
-Arcadia and Albright split the regular-season series this season, with both teams winning at home. The Knights took a 69-59 decision over the Lions in the MAC Commonwealth opener on Dec. 4, before Albright claimed an 86-79 victory on its home floor on Jan. 29.
-Arcadia and Albright meet in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament semifinals for the third-consecutive season. Albright - as the No. 1 seed - defeated the fifth-seeded Knights, 58-45, in the 2018 conference tournament before falling in the title game to No. 2 Lebanon Valley. The roles reversed in 2019, as Arcadia entered at the one-seed and Albright the fifth, with the Knights claiming a 77-73 victory en route to the program's first-ever MAC Commonwealth title two days later.

2019-20 Record: 15-10, 10-6 MAC Commonwealth
-Arcadia is making its sixth overall MAC Commonwealth Tournament appearance and fifth in the last six seasons. The Knights hold a 5-4 overall record in its nine tournament games, including an even 2-2 mark in its four semifinal appearances.
-The Knights were one of two teams in the MAC Commonwealth to be ranked in the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings, coming in at eighth while Widener was slotted sixth.
-Since falling to Albright on Jan. 28, the Knights have won five of its final six regular season games down the stretch, and locked up the third-seed in the tournament with an 85-82 win at Lebanon Valley Saturday in the regular season finale.
-The Knights enter Wednesday's semifinal ranked third in the Commonwealth in scoring offense (77.7 PPG) and second in field goal percentage (44.9%). 
-Da'Kquan Davis finished the regular season as the leading scorer in the MAC Commonwealth, averaging 26.7 points per game. Davis' scoring average currently ranks sixth nationally.
-Davis also leads the Commonwealth in minutes per game (37.1) and made free throws (201), while ranking in the top-five in both assists (5th, 93) and rebounds (T-3rd, 162).
-Steve Pendleton also enjoyed a breakout season for the Knights, averaging a career-best 15.8 points per game along with a team-leading 37 steals. Pendleton finished the regular season with nine-straight games scoring in double-figures, highlighted by a career-high 27 at Albright on Jan. 29.

-Albright is coming off a 98-75 win over Messiah in its regular season finale this past Saturday to lock up a home semifinal game with the two-seed.
-The Lions rank fourth in the conference in scoring offense at 77.2 points per game - a half point behind the Knights - and fifth in scoring defense at 74.3 points per game.
-Albright ranks second in the conference in rebounds at 38.7 per game, while leading the league in offensive rebounds (300).
-Samuel Majekodunmi leads the Lions and ranks third in the MAC Commonwealth at 19.3 points per game.
-Albright finished the regular season with an 8-5 record at home, and has won four-straight games heading into Wednesday's conference tournament semifinal.
