Men's Volleyball Earns Second-Straight Conference Sweep in Team Win

CHESTER, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team earned its second-straight conference sweep with a 3-0 victory at Widener University on Tuesday. Austin Braas led the way offensively with seven kills and a .429 hitting percentage, while nine different Knights tallied two or more kills. Freshman Luke Bucksar also put together a strong performance with a team-high four service aces and four kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights opened the first set on a 9-3 run, which forced the Pride to burn their first timeout. Arcadia went on to clinch the set, 25-14, on a kill from Jarod Pichler after leading for the entire set.

- After Widener opened the second set on a 3-1 run, the Knights quickly regained momentum with six-straight points to take a 8-3 lead. Later in the stanza, the Knights put together another 6-0 rally, which featured three service aces from Bucksar. The Knights went on to clinch the set, 25-12, following a kill from Owen Heft.

- The Pride took an early 3-2 lead, but surrendered five-straight points to put the Knights back on top. Widener climbed back into the game with a 5-2 run to pull withing one point, 22-21. However, Arcadia put together a 3-1 run to clinch the set on a Widener service error.

- The Knights tallied 36 kills, while the Pride only collected 18 kills.
- Arcadia had eight aces, while Widener only had one ace and 20 service errors.
- Arcadia recorded a .304 hitting percentage, while Widener ended the match with a .161 hitting percentage.

The Knights (10-7, 2-2) travel to second-ranked Springfield College on Friday.
