Baseball Tripped Up Versus Salve Regina

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Arcadia University baseball team fell to Salve Regina, 11-5, at Hank Devincent Field on Saturday afternoon. Zachary Sekelick tallied the Knights lone RBI, while Justin Massielo recorded two hits with one run scored. A freshman, Massielo has reached base in all nine games this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-After surrendering one run in the first inning, the Knights bounced back with a two-run bottom half. Massielo started the rally with a one-out single, while Ryan Smolen reached base on an error in the following at bat. Massielo eventually scored on an error, while Smolen touched home on a balk, 2-1.

- Salve Regina rallied for four runs in the third inning to regain the lead, 5-2. Carson Denham, who entered the game with two outs, limited the damage with a swinging strikeout to end the inning. The Seahawks then scored five runs on three hits and three errors in the fourth inning to take a commanding 10-2 lead.

- The Knights scored three runs in the seventh inning. Nick Opalkowski singled to open the inning, and later came around to score on a wild pitch. With runners in scoring position, Sekelick hit a line drive off the pitchers foot to drive home a run, while Madera later took home on a delayed double steal, 11-5.

Danny Castaneda tossed three scoreless innings with two strikeouts to silence Salve Regina's red hot offense.
