Arcadia Knights Awards Week: ECAC Awards of Appreciation
Awarded by the Director of Athletics to a department staff member in recognition for their efforts in supporting and advancing the services and programs of both Arcadia and the ECAC.
SANDY DEVINE - Arcadia Athletics Administrative Assistant

Sandy Devine, is so deserving of being honored with the ECAC staff appreciation award this year. She has done so much over the course of the last year to continue to maintain and excel the operations within the athletics office. Sandy is somebody that is really the backbone of the department; she is on the front lines dealing with everyone that comes in and she is somebody that is capable of working with staff members of varying personalities. She is organized, thorough, diligent, and has a calming influence. She is somebody that is extremely bright and has creative ways of looking at things and streamlining operations. I can't thank her enough for all that she does to support me, to manage my schedule, and assist with my workload, and generally what she does to support the entire operations in athletics. We are absolutely fortunate to have Sandy as our administrative assistant." -

MATT MIZANIN - Assistant Director of Athletic Communications

Matt Mizanin as one of our two full-time staff members in athletic communications. Matt joined us in the summer of 2019 and went into his first fall pre-season as the only staff member on board at that time. He stepped up tremendously, logging very long hours, and as the year went on, he truly proved himself. Matt has infused new energy and life into that unit. His creative, witty social media posts have been absolutely tremendous and ultra-engaging. His graphics are top-notch and he's done a tremendous job in elevating the performance of that unit. Matt is one of those people that doesn't need a lot of notoriety and doesn't look for the limelight. He works comfortably behind the scenes, but everything he does shows on the front-end and we are ecstatic to have him on-board and truly appreciative of everything he does to showcase all the wonderful accomplishments of our student-athletes." -

Arcadia Knights Awards Week: Shirley Liddle Service Award
Awarded annually to the faculty or staff member outside of the department who contributed the most to the Department of Athletics & Recreation.
THERESA SMITH - Director of Student Health Services
(Video) "We are absolutely thrilled to honor and recognize Director of Student Health Services, Theresa Smith, as this year's Shirley Liddle Award winner. Theresa is a tremendous campus partner and somebody that we're extremely fortunate to have at Arcadia. She's compassionate, thoughtful, diligent, and extremely hard-working. She has a difficult job, certainly, providing quality care for all the students at Arcadia and has been a great resource for the athletic training staff in supporting our sick student-athletes. This year was very challenging, considering the number of student-athletes that came down with the flu during the fall and winter, and then certainly this spring we all had our hands full dealing with the coronavirus. Theresa provided a great amount of information and resources, and worked diligently to provide precautions for spring break travel for the teams. We can't thank her enough for all that she does on a day-to-day basis. She's one of those folks that we could not survive without and we're absolutely thrilled to recognize you, Theresa. Thank you and congratulations." -
