GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team concluded regular season play Friday night in a 3-0 loss to Rowan.
Michelle Frank led the Knights with ten kills while
Nicole Dallara followed with nine of her own in the effort.
The Knights turn their attention to the MAC Freedom Championship Tournament as the fourth seed and will host the opening round game Monday against fifth-seeded King's.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-Rowan earned the first seven points of the opening set, but the Knights fought their way all the way back to get within two at 20-18 in the late stages. Back-to-back kills from Frank and Dallara got Arcadia within a point, but the Profs took four of the final five points in the set to take the opener, 25-21.
-Arcadia flipped the script in the second set by taking off on a 6-1 run that featured kills from Frank and
Katie Paoli while Estefania Martinez-Sola added a service ace. Rowan rallied back to tie the match at eight-all and eventually took a two-point lead before a 7-2 Knight run positioned the Knights back out in front, 16-13. However, a late 9-1 Rowan run was too much to overcome in the end as the Profs took the second set, 25-22.
-A
Danielle Doyle service ace followed by a Frank kill gave the Knights a four-point lead early in the third set, but Rowan was able to recover with a 7-1 run to regain a two-point lead. Dallara did her best to keep the match alive with three kills down the stretch, but Rowan ultimately took the match with a 25-20 third-set victory.
