Men's Volleyball Wins Fifth Straight, Sweeps Season Series versus Alvernia

READING, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team defeated Alvernia University in straight sets for the second time this season on Wednesday night. 

Quinn Baily paced the squad with 17 kills and a .500 hitting percentage, while Collin Nissley and Owen Heft tallied nine kills. Anthony Devantier led the defense with a season-high 15 digs in addition to a team-high 36 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bailey led the Knights to an opening set victory, 25-18, with eight kills. After the teams traded points early, Arcadia gained separation with a 6-0 run midway through the stanza. The Knights closed the set strong with four of the last five points tallied. Owen Heft added two kills during the squad's 4-1 run, while Ryan Miller clinched the set victory with a kill.

- Arcadia took the second set by a comfortable margin, 25-17. The Knights put together four unanswered points to break an early 3-3 tie. Arcadia then pushed its lead to 10-4, which forced the Golden Wolves to burn an early timeout. The Knights maintained pressure and coasted to a set victory. Baily led the Knights with five kills, while Nissley added four during the set. 

- Alvernia maintained a slim lead through the opening half of the third set, before the Knights tied the game with a kill from Nissley, 14-14. Later in the set, Arcadia gained separation with three-straight points to take a 22-18 lead, which prompted Alvernia to use a timeout. The Knights closed out the set with two kills from Baily and one from Kevin Abraham to claim the victory in straight sets.
