GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's tennis program returns to the court Saturday to make its 2021 debut at DeSales, marking the Knights' first dual match since February of last year.
"We are so fortunate and excited to be starting back to competition in over a year," head coach Pam Rendé said. "Under the expert guidance of strength and conditioning, the players look physically strong and are ready to compete at a high level on the court. The combined experience of our upperclassmen returners Luke Thatcher and Tim Zeng blended with the addition of strong new talent to our rosters adds key strengths and depth to our doubles and singles ladders."
Thatcher returns after seeing time at a variety of positions on the Knights' singles ladder during the 2019-20 season, most notably producing a runner-up finish in the third singles ladder at the King's Invitational in September 2019. Zeng aims to return to form after competing in a pair of matches a season ago.
"The new, exciting doubles team to watch this season are brothers Josh and Jonathan Noble," Rendé continued. "The duo's games are different, yet complementary, and will make a strong top of the lineup for us heading into the season."
Jonathan Noble posted a 2-3 mark in both singles and doubles in his rookie season while advancing to the quarterfinals of both the 2019 ITA Tournament second singles bracket of the MAC Individual Championships.Â
Following Saturday's season-opener at DeSales, the Knights travel to Stevenson the following week before welcoming Hood to Glenside for the home-opener on Saturday, April 3.
