EDWARDSVILLE, Pa. – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team bounced back with a road victory at Wilkes University, 16-6, on Wednesday night.
Brian Albertsen led the Knights with four goals on a night where 10 different players scored for Arcadia.
Brady Manion also put together a strong offensive showing with two goals and a team-high four assists on the night.
Timmy Fyock made 17 saves for the Knights, while allowing just five goals in 53-minutes of play.
Patrick Ensmenger had 11 ground balls, which marks a single-game season-best for the Knights, to go along with one goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Albertsen opened the scoring with goal at the 13:19 mark. Following a Colonels equalizer, the Knights responded with five unanswered goals in the final eight minutes of the first quarter.
James Barretta,
Billy Burton, Alex Adamcyzk and
Brady Manion connected for the first four tallies, while Albertsen netted his second to end the stanza, 6-1.
- After two Wilkes goals to open the second, the Knights dominated the rest of the way with a 6-0 run. Ensmenger provided the first tally at the 11:00 mark, while Manion scored his second goal moments later. Albertsen logged an opening half hat trick with 9:00 remaining, while
Wesley Sporer, Barretta and Adamcyzk wrapped up the opening half scoring, 12-3.
- Albertsen continued his early success with the team's first goal of the second half for his fourth of the contest.
Jackson Earley then found the back of the net for the first time this season with a man-up goal at the 7:48 mark. First-year standouts
Jack Rogers and
Brady Wied capped off the scoring for the Knights as they carried a 16-5 advantage until the final quarter.
- Wilkes added one goal in the fourth quarter, but the Knights coasted to a comfortable victory for an important conference road win.
