DALLAS, Pa. - The Arcadia University baseball team dropped both games of its double-header at Misericordia University. The Knights narrowly lost the opener 2-1, before falling to the Cougars 13-8 in the finale.
Trevor Mattson had an excellent day at the plate with four hits and 6 RBI on the day. The reigning MAC Freedom Player of the Week bashed two home runs with a double and 5 RBI in the finale.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights threatened in the second inning when
Alex Madera smacked a two-out double down the left field line, but the Knights were unable to bring him home.
- Arcadia scored the game's first run in the third inning.
Justin Massielo doubled with one out to advance
Ryan Smolen to third base. Mattson plated Smolen with a fielder's choice to put the Knights ahead by one run, 1-0.
- The Cougars rallied for two runs in the fifth inning to take its first lead, 2-1. Misericordia loaded the bases with one out and then drove home a pair of runs with a single up the middle.
Jeremy Sabathne was able to limit the damage and escape the inning with only two runs scored.
- The Knights had a runner at third base in both the sixth and seventh innings, but couldn't plate the game's tying run.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the second inning, Mattson launched his fourth home run of the season for the game's first run. The Knights added three more in the third inning with a
Trey Obarowski fielder's choice and a two-run double from Mattson, 4-0.
- The Cougars put together back-to-back five-run innings in the third and fourth to pull ahead by six runs, 10-4. Misericordia's rally was aided by eight hits and two home runs.
- The Knights cut their deficit in half with three runs in the fifth inning, 10-7. Smolen opened the frame with a single to center field, while Obarowski doubled to right field to put two runners in scoring position. Massielo plated the first run with a sacrifice fly, while Mattson hit a two-run homer for his second of the game and fifth of the season.
- The Cougars added two runs in the sixth inning with the game's fifth homer, while plating another runner on a wild pitch. Arcadia added one run in the eighth inning on a RBI single from Madera, 12-8.
