GLENSIDE, Pa - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team won its home-opener against Lycoming College, 3-0, on Tuesday night. Michelle Frank led the Knights with a game-high 12 kills, while Estefanía Martínez-Solá posted a game-high 19 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights won the opening set, 25-16, in convincing fashion. Arcadia started out with a quick 7-2 advantage before Lycoming slowly crept back into the match bringing it to within a point at 11-10. Another quick run by the Knights, this time at 7-1, forced Lycoming into a timeout, leading 18-11. This lead was more than enough to propel a first set win.
-Arcadia hit the ground running with a commanding 6-1 run to open the second set. The Knights were propelled by Frank's three kills. The match found itself close-knit yet again at 7-5, when Arcadia went on a dominant 18-2 run the rest of the way, finishing in convincing fashion with a 25-7 win in the second set.
-The Knights handedly closed out the match in three sets with a 25-18 victory. After a close 5-3 start, Arcadia quickly distanced themselves, leading by no less than six points the entire rest of the way. Haylee Harper capped off the evening with a match point kill in front of full crowd of Knights fans inside Alumni Gymnasium.
