GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team kicked off a busy weekend inside Alumni Gymnasium with a straight-sets victory over visiting FDU-Florham Friday night, marking its second-consecutive MAC Freedom win.
Michelle Frank led the way with a match-high 11 kills while
Danielle Doyle posted six blocks and four service aces in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Knights trailed in the opening stages of the first set, 9-7, but stormed back with a 12-2 run to regain the lead and ultimately led the rest of the way to take control of the match.
Danielle Doyle had a pair of kills over that stretch before consecutive kills from Doyle and
Nicole Dallara secured the 25-19 set victory.
-The two sides traded points to begin the second set, but Arcadia was able to hold at slight edge over the Devils. Leading by four at 14-10, the Knights ripped off a 6-0 run to extend their lead to a set-high ten, taking advantage of four Devil attack errors.
Mandy Singleton provided an ace down the stretch before
Michelle Frank's kill concluded a dominant second set win, 25-13.
-Arcadia opened the third set by winning six of the first seven points, but a 5-0 FDU-Florham run drew the two sides even at 19 in the late stages of the potential match-clinching set. The Knights responded with a 4-0 run of their own thanks to two Doyle aces and a pair of Frank kills before putting the match away on a Devil attack error to pick up their second-straight MAC Freedom victory.
