Men’s Soccer Drops Season Opener at Rutgers-Camden

CAMDEN, NJ - The Arcadia University men's soccer team fell to Rutgers-Camden, 3-0, in the team's season opener on the road, Thursday. 

Kenneth Marshman led the Knights with two shots on goal, while Jake Varrato collected four saves on the evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights defense managed an early threat as Varrato and the defense fought off consecutive corner kicks in the 4th minute. The senior keeper made a key save during the sequence to keep the Scarlet Raptors off the board. 

- Rutgers-Camden opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a shot inside the right post from 30-yards out. The Scarlet Raptors then responded with another tally following a Knights turnover in the 26th minute.  

- Marshman tallied his second shot on goal of the contest with a header in the 69th minute, but the attempt was denied by Rutgers' goalkeeper. The Scarlet Raptors then rallied for their third score of the contest in the 74th minute.
