Gahman's Eight Points Powers Field Hockey Past Albright

GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University field hockey team kicked off its 2021 season in dominant fashion as the Knights defeated Albright College, 8-0, on Friday night.  

A career night from senior midfielder Autumn Gahman paced the Knights as the Green Lane, Pa. native scored three goals and added two assists. This was Gahman's first multi-goal and multi-assist game of her career.  

First-year Morganne Dee stuffed the stat sheet in her first collegiate game as the Lancaster, N.Y. native scored two goals and added an assist.  

In total, five different Knights found the back of the cage, and seven recorded a point.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • The Knights found the back of the cage seven minutes into the first quarter as Dee scored the first goal of her collegiate career. The Knights then added two more goals in the first quarter off of two penalty corner opportunities. Gahman and Lindsay Kuss concluded the scoring in the first half as Arcadia took a 3-0 lead into the first break. 

  • It only took 53 seconds into the second quarter for the Knights to add their fourth goal of the game as Mickie March sent a shot past the goalie. That score would stand for the rest of the quarter as Arcadia took a 4-0 lead into halftime.  

  • Albright started the second half strong as they earned an early penalty corner, but Arcadia defended it nicely to keep its lead at four. The Knights earned a penalty corner of their own, and they once again took advantage of the opportunity as Carly Flickinger pushed the lead to five. 

  • Gahman completed her hat trick as she scored two goals in just under three minutes in the fourth quarter. Dee scored her second of the game eight minutes into the fourth quarter to give the Knights an 8-0 lead.
