CHESTER, Pa. - The Arcadia University women's volleyball team picked up two wins at the Widener Tri-Match on Saturday. The Knights defeated the hosts, Widener, 3-1, and swept Penn College, 3-0, to close out the day.
With the two victories, the Knights extend their winning streak to four. Their record now stands at 14-4.
In the opener against Widener, Estefania Martinez-Sola recorded a triple-double, recording 12 kills, 17 assists and 11 digs. Michelle Frank recorded a double-double with 12 kills and a team high in digs with 17. She also added four aces.
ARCADIA 3, WIDENER 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Widener 12: Widener took an early 6-4 lead, but Arcadia answered with a 9-0 run, giving it a 13-6 lead. After losing the next point, the Knights won five of the next six to extend their lead to 18-8. Arcadia closed the set on a 6-1 run to win the opening frame.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Widener 23: With the set tied at six, Arcadia took three consecutive points, but Widener answered back with a 3-0 run of its own to tie the set again, this time at nine. Leading the set at one heading into the final stages of it, Arcadia took three straight points to extend its lead to 21-17. Widener battled back to cut the Knights lead to one, as well fighting off a set point, but Arcadia took the final point of the set to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Widener 25, Arcadia 23: After the Knights tied the set at eight, Widener went on a 4-0 run to take a 12-8 lead. Arcadia then went on a 10-2 run, taking an 18-14 lead. Widener fought back, closing the set on a 10-3 run, including winning six consecutive points to take the third set and stay alive in the match.
Set 4: Arcadia 25, Widener 21: Widener opened the fourth set on an 8-3 run. Widener led in the set until Arcadia won three consecutive points to take a 16-15 lead. Widener went on to retake the lead, 18-17, but Arcadia closed the frame on an 8-3 run to close out the match.

In the Knights' second match of the day with Penn College, the Knights held the Wildcats to a .014 hitting percentage, including two sets with a negative percentage.
Arcadia tied a season-high with 16 aces in the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Penn College 11: Arcadia got out to a 12-9 lead in the opening set of the match. It then won 13 of the next 15 points including an 8-0 run to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Penn College 12: The Knights opened the second set on a 10-2 run. Penn College got within five, 14-9, but that's the closest it would get as Arcadia went on a 6-0 run and extended that to an 11-3 run to take the second set.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Penn College 15: After the Wildcats got within a point, 6-5, Arcadia used a 9-0 run to take a 15-5 lead. Penn College went on two, 4-0 runs, but Arcadia used three, 3-0 runs to close out the set and the match for its second victory of the day.
