Big Second Quarter Lifts Women's Basketball to Weekend Sweep

BALTIMORE, Md. - A second quarter in which the team had more than double its opponents output was the difference as the Arcadia University women's basketball team finished its trip to Baltimore with a 58-47 victory over host Goucher College in the finale of the Renie Amos Tip-Off on Saturday afternoon. Hanna Rhoades continued her outstanding start with a season and game-high 26 points while Mara Weaver rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12.

The is the first time the program has started non-conference play 3-0 since the 2013-14 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Goucher got off to a fast start in the game, holding a 7-0 lead after three-plus minutes and an 11-6 advantage after the first quarter.

-The Knights began the second on a 10-0 run across the first three minutes to take a 16-11 lead.

-Arcadia outscored the Gophers 23-11 in the quarter, taking a 29-22 advantage into halftime.

-Both teams matched baskets the remainder of the way allowing the Knights to secure the victory.
