WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Abby Beam's career-high 17 points helped lead the Arcadia University women's basketball team to a 60-42 victory at King's College in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) play on Saturday afternoon. Beam was joined in double-figures by
Hanna Rhoades' 17 points and
Mara Weaver, who finished with 12 to go with 12 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-King's jumped out to an 8-1 lead, reaching its largest lead of the quarter at 12-9 before the Knights used a 4-0 run to end the first trailing 12-7.
-The Monarchs outscored Arcadia 15-13 in the second as the Knights faced a 27-20 deficit going into halftime.
-Arcadia began the second half on fire with consecutive three-pointers from
Scarlett Glasser-Nehls, Beam, and Weaver to give the Knights a 29-27 lead a little more than 90 seconds into the third.
-Arcadia outscored King's 20-6 in the quarter, heading into the fourth with a 40-33 lead.
-The Knights hit the 20-point mark in the fourth quarter as well, cruising to the victory as time expired.
