First-Place in 200 Medley Relay Highlights Arcadia Men's Swimming Day One at MAC Championships
YORK, Pa. – The 200 medley relay team of
Shane Stauffer,
George Wade,
Janis Kirsis, and
Ryan Erdman finished first and set a new school record in the process to help the Arcadia University men's swim team sit at second overall after day one of the 2022 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships on Thursday evening.
The championship-winning team finished the race in 1:35.37, narrowly besting the relay team from Stevens. The team of
Adam Smith,
Kevin Foley,
Tyler Mui, and
Bailey Orehosky completed the race in 1:40.72, good for third in the "B" relay.
In the 500 freestyle,
Dylan Alexander finished third with a time of 4:48.20, followed by Smith in 13
th place with a personal-best time of 4:56.57, and
Daniel Ross in 19
th with a personal-best of 5:05.65.
Kirsis came in third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:55.54, Foley finished with a personal-best of 2:01.28 for eighth place and Mui set another personal-best for the Knights with a time of 2:01.47 for 12
th place.
Stauffer continued the run of top-three finishes with a third-place completion in the 50 free at a personal-best time of 21.49. Erdman finished in 17
th place with a personal-best of 21.84 and
Carlos Pinga completed the race in 22.12 for a 19
th-place finish.
The Knights return to the pool for day two of the MAC Championships tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
