In the early match against Eastern Mennonite, Arcadia jumped to an early 2-0 lead and remained out in front the rest of the first set. With the score 9-8, the Knights used a 4-0 run, which ballooned into an 11-4 stretch to take a 20-12 lead on their way to a 25-20 victory to go up 1-0.

In set two, Arcadia gained a 3-1 early lead and expanded to a 13-8 advantage, but Baruch took a late 19-18 lead before the two teams traded off points late into the set. The match reached a 31-31 tie before a Gonzalez kill gave the Knights the lead and a red card assessed to the Bearcats ended the set with Arcadia holding a 33-31 lead and a two-sets-to-zero match advantage.
