Men's Basketball Runs Win Streak to Four with 77-72 Win over FDU-Florham
 
MADISON, NJ – Four players finished in double-figures for points as the Arcadia University men's basketball team ran its win streak to four in a 77-72 win oat FDU-Florham in Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) action on Wednesday evening.
 
The Knights improved to 9-5 in league play and 10-13 overall with the victory.
 
Arcadia jumped out to a 6-0 lead to start the game on jumpers from Gabe Kier and Samuel Majekodunmi sandwiched around a Jalen Watkins layup.
 
After FDU-Florham cut the deficit to 16-13 with just over ten minutes left in the first half, the Knights used a 16-4 run to take a 15-point advantage at 32-17 with 5:40 on the clock. Arcadia's lead never sank below 10 as it headed into halftime leading 40-30.
 
The Knights started the second half with five-straight points from Watkins to make the score 45-30. The Devils used a 19-10 streak to make Arcadia's lead shrink to six at 55-49, bit the Knights pushed their lead back to 12 with a 6-0 run on four points from Dom Vazquez and a Cole Walker layup.
 
FDU-Florham cut the lead down to three at 63-60 with 8:27 on the clock but Arcadia outscored it 14-12 to escape with the five-point win.
 
Watkins continued his hot streak with 15 points and seven rebounds. Majekodunmi finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists, Kier added 10 points while Vazquez contributed a season-high 14 points off the bench.
 
The Devils were led by Oliver Ortman's 20 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Aidan Newman (12), Gerard Nicholson (11), and Brian Nichols (10), rounded out the double-digit scorers for FDU-Florham.
 
The Knights dominated in the paint to a 48-34 advantage while the bench outscored its counterpart 26-12.
 
Arcadia returns to action on Saturday when it will travel to Lycoming College for a 3:00 p.m. MAC Freedom game.
