Multi-Goal Runs the Difference for Women's Lacrosse at Susquehanna
 
SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Four streaks of two goals or more proved to be the difference as the Arcadia University women's lacrosse team fell in non-conference action at Susquehanna University by a 15-8 final on Friday evening.
 
The Knights are now 1-5 on the season.
 
Maddie Ruger got Arcadia on the board just under two minutes into the contest.
 
Susquehanna took the lead with back-to-back scores before Morganne Dee scored her first career goal with 10:16 on the clock to tie the score at two.
 
The River Hawks retook the lead with 4:31 on the clock but Sarah Morris tied the score at three with 2:12 on the clock, which is where the count remained as the horn sounded ending the first quarter.
 
Susquehanna broke the tie with a man-up goal but Tessa O'Donnell re-tied the score with a man-up goal assisted by Olivia Poley at 8:12 of the second quarter.
 
The River Hawks notched three-straight goals to finish the first half leading 7-4.
 
Ashley Starkey opened the third quarter to cut the deficit to 7-5 but Susquehanna scored the next three goals making the score 10-5.
 
Skylar Acker ended the run with an unassisted score at 3:27. The River Hawks scored with 33 seconds left to end the third quarter leading 11-6.
 
Acker began the scoring in the fourth with an unassisted tally but four-straight from Susquehanna made the score 15-7 before Ruger broke through for a man-up goal at 2:44 to reach the final score.
 
Emily Griffith made 17 saves in the cage for Arcadia. Hannah McAllister totaled five groundballs and Starkey added nine draw controls.
 
The Knights return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Bryn Mawr College for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference game.
