CLERMONT, Fl. – Juliana Presto struck out 12 batters allowing one hit to back up an offense that erupted for 11 runs as the Arcadia University softball team defeated Capital University 11-0 in five innings on Saturday evening in Florida.

The Knights improved to 4-3 with the win.

Madi Costigan started the bottom of the first with a walk and moved to second after Nathalia Diianni followed with another walk. Megan Sooy was hit by a pitch to load the bases, and everybody moved up a base on a wild pitch that brought home the first run. Serena Goodridge brought home Diianni with a sacrifice fly, and after a line out, Sooy moved to third on a wild pitch. Morgan Tripodi walked to put runners on the corners with two outs, and Effie Jamanis stepped up and launched a three-run homer, giving Arcadia a 5-0 lead after one inning.

Zoey Ritter led off the bottom of the second with an infield single and moved to second on a fielder's choice. Sooy hit a one-out single bringing home Ritter, followed by a run-scoring single from Goodridge. Megan Klose grounded out to move each runner up a base with Tripodi bringing home Sooy and Goodridge with a double to right as the Knights held a 9-0 lead after two.

Morgan Marchesani led off the fourth with a walk, moved to second on a groundout from Kayla Pscolka, and came in to score on a double to left from Klose. Summer Centeno followed with her first career hit and RBI when she singled to center scoring Klose and finishing the scoring.

Presto was the story in the circle, allowing one hit and three walks with 12 strikeouts in the complete-game effort; Presto has now struck out 25 batters in the last two days.

Jamanis finished 1-for-3 with three rbi's and one run scored to lead the offense.
