Men's Lacrosse Drops Non-Conference Game to Eastern 15-10
GLENSIDE – The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team was defeated in a non-conference game by Eastern University 15-10 from Jean Lenox West Field on Monday afternoon.
The Knights stand at 2-3 on the season following the contest.
Eastern opened the scoring with 12:36 on the first quarter clock before
Justin Chinici tied the score with a helper from
Wesley Sporer.
The Eagles notched the next three goals to take a 4-1 lead, with
Brian Albertsen stopping the run with an unassisted tally at 7:06 of the opening quarter. Eastern closed the quarter with an additional three goals to make the score 7-2 after 15 minutes of play.
Brady Manion got Arcadia back in the goal column at 11:16 of the second with an unassisted tally. The Eagles scored two straight and appeared to be heading into halftime with a 9-3 advantage, but Sporer broke through with 14 seconds remaining and
James Barretta tallied another last-second score, getting through with just four seconds until halftime. The Knights trailed 9-5 as the halftime buzzer sounded.
Eastern began the second half with three straight goals, taking a 12-5 advantage. Albertsen score with 1:12 left in the third as the third quarter ended with the Eagles holding a 12-6 lead.
After Eastern got the first score of the final quarter, Albertsen scored a man-up goal with a helper from Chinici. The Eagles tacked on another goal before Barretta broke through for the second time. Eastern notched its 15
th goal with 2:20 remaining and the Knights closed the scoring a Baretta goal unassisted and
Sean Connolly with a man-up score assisted by
Kyle McLaughlin.
Timmy Fyock made 21 saves in the cage foe Arcadia.
The Knights return to action on Saturday when they travel to Neumann for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference game.
