GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team pulled out a double overtime victory over Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) foe, DeSales, 12-11, on Wednesday night at Jean Lenox West Field.
The victory is the Knights' seventh in a row to improve their record to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in conference play.
Justin Chinici found the back of the net with 2:09 left in the second overtime period as he put a shot into the top corner off a feed from Wesley Sporer.
With his first point of the night, Sporer recorded his 100th career point as a Knight. The senior midfielder had four points in the game with a goal and three assists.
Chinici led the Knights attack as he scored four goals and added an assist for five points.
A.J. Dominguez was 8-for-11 on faceoffs and picked up nine ground balls as well.
Goalkeeper Timmy Fyock made eight saves and picked up eight ground balls in the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Knights scored the first two goals of the game through Brady Manion and Sean Connolly to give Arcadia a 2-0 lead. DeSales scored the last two goals of the frame to tie the game at two after 15 minutes of play.

The Bulldogs took a 4-2 lead through two consecutive goals, but Arcadia answered back, scoring two consecutive of its own as Chinici and Brian Albertsen scored to tie the game at four going into halftime.

DeSales scored the first three goals of the second half to take a 7-4 lead. Billy Burton and Chinici scored to bring the Knights within one, 7-6. The Bulldogs scored another three straight goals to extend their lead to 10-6, but Sporer and Burton scored to cut the DeSales lead to 10-8 entering the fourth quarter.

Albertsen and Chinici found the back of the net to tie the game at 10 within the opening four-plus minutes of the final quarter. DeSales scored to take an 11-10 lead, but Kyle McLaughlin scored for Arcadia to tie the game at 11.

After a scoreless first overtime period, Chinici scored his fourth goal of the game to give the Knights the 12-11 victory.
