GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's volleyball team split its tri-match on Saturday afternoon as it fell to No. 4 Stevens, 3-0 in its first match and upset No. 14 Messiah in the second match.
The Knights celebrated senior day prior to the start of the first match, honoring Anthony Devantier, Collin Nissley and Quinn Baily.
Baily led the Knights attack against the Ducks with nine kills. Nissley finished with eight kills in the loss. Devantier dished out 23 assists for the Knights.
In the sweep over No. 14 Messiah, Baily added another nine kills and Nissley another eight. Devantier upped his assist total for the day to 46 with another 23 assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Stevens 25, Arcadia 23
The Knights jumped out to an early 9-5 lead. They held their four-point advantage until 18-14 when Stevens began a 5-1 run to tie the set at 19. The Ducks took five of the final six points of the set to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: Stevens 25, Arcadia 16
The teams traded points in the opening stages until Stevens took four consecutive points, giving them an 11-8 lead. The Ducks extended their lead to 21-14 through a 6-2 run. They also took the final four points of the set to take a 2-0 lead.
Set 3: Stevens 25, Arcadia 11
The Ducks never trailed in the set as they used multiple runs to win the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Messiah 23
The teams fought back and forth for the opening stages of the set. The Knights took five consecutive points to take a 17-12 lead. Messiah went on a 4-1 run to cut Arcadia's lead to 21-19, but the Knights held on to win the first set.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Messiah 16
Arcadia went on a 3-0 run and then a 4-0 run to take a 14-9 lead. After Messiah cut the Knights lead to 15-11, Arcadia ended the set on a 10-5 run to take a 2-0 lead in the set.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Messiah 22
Messiah got out to a 14-9 lead, but Arcadia answered with six consecutive points, giving them a 15-14 lead. The Knights would not trail for the rest of the set as they completed the sweep of Messiah.
