GLENSIDE, Pa. - The Arcadia University men's lacrosse team defeated Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom (MAC Freedom) foe Wilkes, 14-7, on Wednesday night at Jean Lenox West Field.
The Knights won their fifth straight game to improve to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in MAC Freedom play.
Kyle McLaughlin set a new career high in goals with three and added two assists for a career-high five points in the win. The first year now has nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points on the year. Billy Burton and Brady Manion also found the back of the net three times each for the Knights.
Maxwell Henry picked up seven ground balls to pace the Knights defense. Timmy Fyock made 10 saves and picked up six ground balls to get his seventh win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Justin Chinici scored the first goal of the game to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Wilkes scored the next three, but Wesley Sporer, McLaughlin and Brian Albertsen found the back of the net before the end of the first quarter to give the Knights a 4-3 lead after the opening 15 minutes of play.

Arcadia extended its run to 6-0 as Manion, Burton and Landan Hajek scored to extend the Knights lead to 7-3. Wilkes scored to end the Arcadia run, but Burton scored his second goal of the frame. The Colonels scored with just under four minutes left in the half, but McLaughlin scored with 50 seconds left to give the Knights a 9-5 lead after the first half of play.

Manion scored twice and Chinici added one more as Arcadia extended its lead to 12-6 at the end of the third quarter.

Burton and McLaughlin added to their goal tallies in the fourth quarter as the Knights closed out the 14-7 win.
