GLENSIDE - With six seconds left on the clock, a corner kick that was deflected in erased the two-goal comeback, sending the Arcadia University men's soccer team to a 3-2 loss to Alvernia University at Jean Lenox West Field. The Knights erased a 2-0 halftime deficit with goals from
Giancarlo Ciotoli and
Steven Warren.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alvernia jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals in the 20th and 38th minutes.
-Ciotoli got Arcadia on the board with his first collegiate tally when he headed in a cross from Warren in the 74th minute.
- Warren tied the score in the 84th minute when he deflected in a long free ball that dribbled in past the Golden Wolves' keeper.
- Alvernia broke the tie with six seconds on the clock when it deflected in a corner kick
-The Knights led the shot count 19-13, getting 10 on target compared to six for the Golden Wolves.
