GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Arcadia University women's volleyball team swept its tri-match on Saturday afternoon inside Alumni Gymnasium, sweeping Marywood and topping Widener in four sets.
The Knights won their eighth and ninth matches of the season with the victories.
In the match against Marywood,
Katie Paoli led all players with 10 kills. She added 11 digs for a double-double. Estefania Martinez-Sola had a season-high 29 assists for the Knights in the win.
Against Widener,
Alysa Dennison had a match-high 15 kills. Martinez-Sola had a triple-double with 10 kills. 22 assists and 15 digs.
ARCADIA 3, MARYWOOD 0
HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Marywood 17:
The Knights got out to a 13-6 lead. Marywood cut its deficit to 16-13, but Arcadia closed the set on a 9-4 run to take the opening set of the match.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Marywood 15:
Arcadia had a strong start in the second set, getting out to an early 9-2 lead. The Knights continued their momentum through the rest of the frame as they took a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Arcadia 25, Marywood 19:
Marywood tied the set at 14 through a 5-0 run. The Knights retook the lead through a 4-1 run and extended that to an 11-5 run to close out the set and take the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1: Arcadia 25, Widener 14:
A tightly contested opening to the match saw Arcadia hold a slim, 13-12 lead. After that point though, the Knights closed out the set on a 12-2 run, including taking the final seven points of the frame to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Set 2: Arcadia 25, Widener 23:
The Knights took four consecutive points to build a 14-9 lead, but Widener went on a 9-2 run to take an 18-16 lead. Arcadia took the lead back through a 4-0 run, but Widener tied the set at 22. However, Arcadia took three of the final four points to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set 3: Widener 25, Arcadia 10:
Widener got out to a 14-4 lead and never looked back in the set to stay alive in the match.
Set 4: Arcadia 25, Widener 21:
Widener won the first four points of the set, but the Knights came to back to eventually tie the set at 12. The ending of the frame saw each team trade runs, but the Knights ended the set on a 6-1 run to win the set and the match.
